About to start at BAA to do my A320 TR

Seems I made it very late here join the great party but nevertheless I am here now. The wealth of comments, advice and content is unbelievable. I hope some can shed a light on my issue.
I am a young 49 year old recently qualified pilot with 220 TT (EASA CPL/ME IR). Applied to the usual suspects and got nothing back, some didn't even acknowledge receipt of my details even! Anyhow it has not dissuaded me from pursuing my ambition of making it into a right hand seat.
Therefore, self sponsoring my own type rating with BAA seems to be my only option I feel as they provide a good standard of teaching (I'm told!) and that they have partners who they direct you to for job interviews. NOW, I'm not naive nor am I buttoned up the back but I genuinely would like people's comment and advice.
The thing is time is of the essence as I am due to leave for Lithuania in 2 days!
