Indeed, the level of UK geographical knowledge among much of the UK population is lamentable. However, probably more of a handicap than calling the airport Doncaster is referring to it a "Robin Hood Airport". In the minds of most people the Lincoln Green clothed outlaw came front Sherwood Forest which people generally associate with Nottingham. I wonder how many people booked from Robin Hood expecting to fly from EMA!!
Which also experienced its own nomenclature problems by calling itself Nottingham only to have to reverse its own decision! Wacky.
