The only thing I can see or imagine is they probably calculated it would be cheaper and profitable for the company to hire non rated, like this they can bond them with a full type rating course and pay them a lower scale initial salary.

All of the impatient nellys need to take a deep breath. The training department is at max capacity. Applying one day and expecting a call the next day is not realistic from a large airline, never has been. QR bureaucracy is unrivaled and is rigid. The number of available slots at any given point in time is finite. There are a very large number of applicants, even with all of the accurate warnings about working conditions.
