I recall in the early 1990s there was a business fashion that said: How many staff does it take per £/$ earned? They were soon boasting "We have 34 staff per £" or whatever it was. So the next had to be "25" and so they got into a
on the table display to reach single figures. Using Outsourcing got people off the list (even though they were still being paid) so it was another drive of outsourcing. As with all fashions, that one faded but the outsourcing still looks good - on paper.
