Ka life, I think I understand your query now. Queenstown can be considered a single runway case, and always will be due to terrain and the cost of real estate. When we use say 05, we can’t bring the 23 EMaS area into ASDA or TORA because I can’t taxi onto it or line-up in it. (my individual take-off charts decreed generally we were accel/stop limited) Therefore what I gained landing on 23; I lost departing on 05. NZQN has ATC control and duty runway can change throughout the day. The types I flew were always departure limited, but accommodated a reasonable international load albeit at reduced engine TBOs.
