Around a year or two ago there was active discussion about dropping the word “Airport” from the railway station so Luton Airport Parkway would become Luton Parkway Station. The thinking was that it would encourage more passengers heading to the airport to buy a through ticket via the Dart as too many passengers are buying separate tickets for the final mile. I suspect Luton Dart Parkway is part of that plan.
This reminds me of the campaign by the airport for 4 non stop trains an hour. They must have been very disappointed to only get 2 using inferior commuter stock trains.

Meanwhile Thameslink describe the Dart station at Parkway as a terminal. Also the artists impression does not have the word Airport on the building.
