IF your phone is on 'Flight Mode' of course you may have a licence,
IF you have a piece of paper in your wallet / folder / flight bag, then you DO have a licence...no matter how 'tatty' that piece of paper may be...
That's PROGRESS.
So....Wot's the advantage..??
IF the phone is off, you turn it on. What’s the problem?
IF it’s in flight mode, you still have it. But the only place you’re likely to need it is on the ground, so why is flight mode relevant?
IF you are even required to carry your license on you currently (been a while since I’ve cared, because my company says I have to, but I believe there’s no requirement for a private pilot for example within Australia), then the progress is eventually you don’t need that tatty piece of paper, and maybe they might even include your medical certificate in it too! Imagine that!
THAT is the progress.
Stop looking at it like a critical old person.
