And he was quite obviously seeing and avoiding the Cessna he was following, not the following Metroliner that he hit, side on while turning belly-up to it. He was also turning base, in a high-workload environment. One can only do so much. Poor communications in a Class D "traffic only" environment; the Cirrus pilot said "traffic sighted". Which traffic?
