The closure of what was our largest market based on capacity - India - took things to a new low in recent weeks and we are in for a long recovery with many bumps on the road ahead. It's going to be a long time before TC is sitting next to the campfire singing Kumbaya and telling the world how marvellously well EK weathered the pandemic.
The company have always said there are more than enough 380 pilots flying the line at present and the recent recalls from LWOP are based on the flying program increasing this summer - an increase that is gradually looking less likely if the company wishes to match capacity to demand. As a result, the stress levels of those who are on LWOP who have not been recalled, will undoubtedly be increasing and perhaps considerably so. We need to help and support each other to get through these tough times.
