The FWC only ‘threatened’ them with that because on both occasions the flight attendant unions endorsed the deal, which is probably fair enough:

- Negotiations going for protracted period (circa 18-24 months)
- Unions endorse first deal
- Cabin crew vote down first deal
- Unions endorse second deal
- FWC outlines that bargaining can’t go on forever - employee representatives are saying vote yes, outline to crew that company would have strong case to terminate agreement and inform employees that deal is significantly better than award
- 85% of workforce vote, of which 80ish% vote yes
