I wouldn't be surprised if regionals started signing off on new E3s in the next 9 - 12 months.
There is a school of thought saying the demand for pilots post-COVID will be greater than pre-COVID because so many pilots were enticed to take early-out deals and/or others just driven out of the field for good or discouraged from entering in the first place. This will allegedly create a deficit during a robust economic recovery.
No data yet to support that and the data would be hard to come by due to the large number of variables but...I don't think the premise is entirely unreasonable.
