The US for all its faults, has numerous checks and balances for going to war or any nuke` attacks. This will pass shortly and ` politics will resume as usual. So far nothing in the last ten years has come close to the decade of the 60's here in the US. We survived that and we get by this bump in thhe road as well. The big difference is the social media which feeds off of stuff like this along with the lame stream media which knows no bounds or limits to the misinformation they put out.
Oddly the media don't have the trigger, your president does. Whilst we have never had so much free flow of opinions nor so many available channels you have never had such a president on whom to opine. I hope he doesn't set a precedent.
On a grammatical note, I would usually dignify the title of your head of state with a capital letter.
