Definitely take your son to a gliding club and do anything to support him in that pursuit. Though I didn’t follow that route, I wish I had. I started flying gliders 10yrs after I became a commercial pilot, but now recognise I missed out on some great opportunities in the gliding world. There’s a lot to be gained being surrounded by like minded people/pilots in those formative teenage years and there’s no doubt also a good social scene amongst youngsters in gliding.
