Racedo, Unfortunately, Ireland is following the trajectory of the UK. The 7 day average of new cases is just over 800 a day (yesterdays single day was 1084). Grossed up to the population size of the UK that is over 12000 new cases a day, about where the UK was 8 or 9 days ago.
In Western Europe, bar Germany, ( which is showing a rising trend) the unfortunate truth is that governments of all colours have tried differing strategies and arrived in roughly the same place.
I suppose we could lobby for all borders to be opened up as we are similar in infection rates. But I don't think any government would tolerate too many foreigners in their national health systems.
