Are the black lines on this Boeing 777 non slip walk ways. Or do they serve some other purpose. A PPL friend of mine wishes to know and I can’t answer him.

Again, haven't seen the picture. Lines can have indicate different things. On the 737NG for example they can show the area of the wing where cold soaked fuel frost can form without a need to deice, on other airplanes it is the area you can step on (it is not non slip though). If it delineates the area to use for evacuation it usually is explained in the safety card.
