Well, It's difficult to say. I learned how to fly safely round the circuit! Having been an instructor/examiner for a number of years, I think it's not what I learned but how that is the major change. There was some pretty good instructing but there was also some appallingly bad instructing. The style was very formulaic and possibly a bit lazy as the RAF could simply replace students who failed.
