VARA got their first A320 back in Skywest days well before VA bought them. It was brought in for the cloudbreak contract. The charter was operated by a
VB 737 on a wet lease arrangement until skywest could introduce the A320.
The only runway that I know the 737 may be an issue with is Cocos Island, though I'm not familiar with all the mining strip's VARA fly to.
