Thanks for that memory jog. I had thought it was in the late 70's!
Not interesting aircraft, but interesting routes during these times through the London TMA. Today it was a Ryanair 737 (what else?) descending over central London at 7,000ft heading into Gatwick from Dublin. I guess with so little traffic direct routing is possible in most cases outside of busy spurts.
