However the UK controls its own borders and can make exemptions if it wishes, and there is nothing the EU can do about it apart from taking the UK to the European Court of Justice for discriminating against a Schengen member.
Apparently No 10 have now said that France is not exempt...
Downing Street has denied that visitors coming from France will be exempt from moves to quarantine international visitors coming into the UK.
