Bit more than a paperwork shuffle for a PNG AOC holder to operate a foreign registered aircraft.

The flight crew and certifying engineers would need to hold Australian licenses before the show got on the road, then there would be the CASA PNG Part 119 requirements and then all the rest of it.

PX and PNG Air currently have a heap of airframes parked up due to lack of demand, couple this with one of the above mentioned airlines having all their pilots of on forced leave without pay, unless called in. Very problematic to say the least!

The current PNG domestic pax demand is very low. It will be very interesting to see which airlines in PNG are still in business at the end of the year. I will say no more, however there is certainly going to be casualties. The next 8 weeks will be very interesting.......
