Let me be clear. There are no good places to visit in Dubai, bar the departure lounge at DXB, as already written in scrotometer's contribution. The place and the whole of the UAE is a nasty little ****hole. And it is densely populated by people who are able to turn a blind eye to the abuse of workers whilst themselves coining it and living a comfortable life. One of my sons included. As for being woke, I doubt that I would have survived my time in the forces with such attitudes.
