The HS2 railway project would be finished and old hat by now.
Got a contract for a water treatment plant in the Guangzhou province in '91. Usual stuff after signing, all the high ranking officials and us, plus a TV crew out in a field, maps upside down and very thoughtful expressions on every face. Behind us, a group av farmers harvesting crops, blissfully unaware of the fact that in two days bulldozers would take care of the left overs. Still have the video, much laughing every time us old China hands meet up for a drink, or several. Happy times.
