Strathallen airfield and collection
Does anyone know if Strathallen is available for private aircraft? I understand the parachute club still operates from there, as they did in the early 1980s when I last visited. The airfield and museum had closed and most of its aircraft dispersed. I was told at the time that the local council had treated it as an airport and rated it accordingly, the owner said the rates would make it uneconomic, the council said too bad, and one of the country's finest collections and tourist attractions --- Mosquito, Lancaster, Battle etc -- was sold off across the world.
