If one or two captains moving to Chinese carriers is “many” then correct. 50% failure rate is a little bit of an exaggeration. Yes there are failures and yes at a higher rate that many other countries, however I would say the rate of failures between Japanese and expat pilots is about the same.

Thats not what Ebika - head of JCAB checkers - said in a meeting recently.

I dont think regulatory change is whats needed to make the process of joining a Japanese airline smoother. A change of philosophy, instructional technique and decision making regarding training and assessment is whats needed.

Never happen. Foreign pilots are hated in Japan and if they could all be run out of the place by the Japanese they would be.
The CEO needs to bring his management team into line if he wants to realise his expansions dreams. Again unlikely he can achieve that.
