So you are telling me an A320 Captain gets paid all of 39000?!? Disgustingly despicable if you ask me. At my last job I made almost 75% of that just in per diems with six months off each year. I cant wrap my head around why people accept this kind of stuff. I get that not everyone will make 200k, or some not even 100k per year during their career, but this above is just insulting to our profession.
As already mentioned, this is only the basic. Once all factors are counted, RL salary is almost double. Second most important, you mention PER DIEM, which is - not being at home. Personally Iīm happy to accept a lot less salary and sleep in my own bed, eat quality home-made food, spend time with my family than get per diem and spend it all on restaurants. Thatīs before I even mention jet lag or living in countries far, far away.
Just like you, I canīt wrap my head why some people would accept THAT for a little more money.
