Labour, at least Corbyn, wants their cake and eat it. Single market and customs union whilst being able to carry out nationalisation that would not be permitted under EU membership rules. Totally unattainable, so the best hope for their negotiated exit agreement to be voted down in a their referendum and to remain in the EU. That of course assumes that Labour would carry through it's promise of a new referendum based on their "new" deal or remain.
