Agreed. The current crew complement, which is presumably what QF plans to fly should this become a reality, is unacceptable. You need two crew in the front seats fully rested and able to operate at their optimum at the start of the flight and you need two crew in the front seats rested as fully as possible, able to operate as best they can twenty hours later.
To suggest this should be with a Capt, FO and two SOs, neither of whom are rated for takeoff and landing is patently ridiculous. No disrespect to SOs but if this is the crewing planned, then one of the front seat pilots will be likely be less rested than one of the SOs.
Minimum should be Capt, 2 FOs and one SO. Capt gets whatever break they want, FOs sort amongst themselves to ensure one of them is fresh at the start and one at the end (however they sort it under the Captain’s approval) and the SO gets what’s leftover.
Management would hate this however, as it presumably hasn’t been factored in to their ‘model’ but it is the minimum with current QF crew qualifications to ensure the front seat pilots are as fresh as possible both at the start and at the end of the flight.
