They actually cover that in the video - it'll apparently detect this situation and take over, but if it's wrong or if the pilot later wakes up then they can easily deactivate it.

I don't see this being as useful as the ballistic recovery chute (pretty sure that pilot incapacitation happens much less frequently than crashes due to fuel exhaustion, engine failure, etc) - but still a nice thing to have in an emergency.


Edit - I guess that this would also be a fantastic thing for "VFR pilot flies into cloud and gets disoriented". Now they can just hit the Autoland button and Garmin will figure out how to get down safely. Unfortunately "VFR pilots" and "planes with Garmin Autoland" probably don't overlap very much.
