So now the report is out, the airline can blame Boeing, Boeing can blame the pilots and maintenance, and the FAA who are actually supposed to be the failsafe on design and training requirements can continue business as usual, with the congresscritters busily gorging themseves at the Boeing trough.
A gentle reminder that the purpose of the official accident report is to identify
all the primary and secondary factors that contributed to an accident and recommend steps to mitigate those factors in the future. It is less about blame than about trying to make aviation safer.
Civil and criminal lawsuits on the other hand......
