some people tend to think it is flak, there was an article that in UK alone, during this millennium, there has been several direct hits of fireworks leaving scorch marks on aircrafts.

4.1 Aerial fireworks displays should be limited to a height of 1,500 ft above ground level. Any firework conforming to BS7114/BS EN 14035-36 will not exceed this height.
