In my opinion it's definitely the aptitude scores. I have made it to final interview twice and didn't pass the aptitude/video interview stage once. I remember feeling that year that I'd performed poorly on the tests, my head just wasn't with it that day.
I'll second this 100%. I had started a new job around the assessments. Definitely was not focused.
