Reminds me of a story I heard years ago from a guy who had bought an R22 in Ireland.
When he bought it the deal was the the Irish owners were to deliver it to the UK. The aircraft arrived at the agreed place, can't remember where, and the buyer was surprised that there was no sign of a dinghy or even life jackets. When he asked the Irish guys about it they told him that they had flown the 22 to the docks in Ireland, put on the wheels and pushed it onto the ferry. When they got to the UK they pushed it off the ship and took off from the docks to complete the journey.
I heard this an about 2000 or 2001 and it happened some years before then.
