Where do the media get 99% of their headlines from? Like I said, there wouldn't be a story to report on if the headline was "Flybe up for sale but they'll be fine". There was absolutely no indication from the Flybe hierarchy that they would be closing, just wishful thinking people in the media and on here not being able to add 2 to 2 and come up with the correct answer.
Not to mention a fair number of posts on this very thread forecasting the imminent downfall of FlyBe. It would be more than a little naive to believe that journalists don't lurk on PPRuNe looking for "expertise" in an area where evidently some some reporting they have very little knowledge. Sadly there is often a lack of expertise evident in some postings on PPRuNe too!
