Same in Ireland. Took me absolutely ages to train myself to stop saying "go ahead" though, roughly a year before I completely cut it out.
Last time I went through Annex 10 (probably a year ago at this stage), "go ahead" had been removed from approved standard phraseology.
As for required pilot response to call from ATC, callsign only is fine I would say. If you want to throw in "go", or "go ahead" or " what the hell do you want now?"....I don't particularly care!
