I thought Boeing would add an “Autothrottle Mode” EICAS message if in HOLD below 1000’. Or a buzzer if the TOGA switch is pushed when inhibited. Or an aural alert if a manual input causes an indirect mode change. Or...or...or....
I guess there are actuaries calculating the economics of human life value vs insurance vs litigation costs vs customer confidence.
