My dear old Dad used to work for a removal firm and they had to move JRJ somewhere up North- he travelled with them in the van. They stopped for a break somewhere, Dad and his mates took out their sandwiches and thermos flasks. JRJ took out a tinned Fray Bentos pie, undid it by using that key thingy on the lid or maybe a tin opener on the side and proceeded to eat it cold straight out of the tin by hand. He signed a film script and gave it to my Dad, my sister has it - I think it was one of those Doctor films.
