Just watched this fascinating film made in 1955. Some of the it hasn't aged well so parts are washed out or in black and white. Not good for a colour film. Plot nothing special - best part James Robertson Justice refusing to pilot his stratocruiser as the engine doesn't sound right. When he is told the instruments and mechanic say the engine is okay he replies
"Young man, let me tell you something. In the air, I am responsible for this aircraft and the lives of all on board her, and neither you nor anyone else - *including* the chairman of the corporation - is going to induce me to take her one inch off the ground until I am absolutely satisfied that she is in perfect order. Do I make myself clear? "
I wonder if that could happen nowadays?
