A bipartisan Bill is to go before Congress blocking the US from entering into a trade deal with the UK post Brexit if the UK violates the Good Friday Agreement by not protecting the status quo on the border.
That's good. Because the 'backstop' (by imposing constitutional changes to the NI/UK relationship violates the Good Friday agreement).. Whereas junking the backstop doesn't unless one of the parties does impose a border, and the UK doesn't intend to.
