Nice move , but from BA web site :
As part of its 100-year birthday, British Airways has today announced it will be painting a Boeing 747...etc...
and
- On August 25, 1919, British Airways’ forerunner company, Aircraft Transport and Travel Limited (AT&T), launched the world's first daily international scheduled air service between London and Paris.
- In 1924, Britain's four main fledgling airlines, which had by then evolved into Instone, Handley Page, Daimler Airways (a successor to AT&T), and British Air Marine Navigation Company Limited, merged to form Imperial Airways Limited, and it goes in ,,.
It is a bit far stretched to claim BA is 100 years old , if you count all the mergers before you., a lot of others could claim the same including AF. I thought the only real airline that can really claim to be 100 years in 2019 is KLM ( and they will celebrate this ) all the other that flew at the time or before have disappeared since. But Ok, I understand it is all about marketing.
