Really? I find it strange that you say that. All of the holds are pressurised otherwise the floor would collapse. Usually at least one is air-conditioned, often the front, to suit carriage of live animals. If you think the size is limited then how do you think a single engine aircraft would carry the size? I have carried an amazing array of different animals/reptiles/birds over the years, all without an issue.
Also it is quite cost effective if they travel with you, on the other hand if they travel as freight it is expensive.
Every commercial aircraft is configured differently. They are not alike. You can google it if you dont believe me. All Australian carriers advertise different configurations and conditions of carriage.
Airlines have specific rules relating to double and single cages. I dont want to waste time lecturing you, but if I have two dogs in two cages and another person has a large dog in a large cage, its not happening.
