Thanks Ed, but it's not really about closure. I had that decades ago, or thought I did. It was a total surprise to find the eBay pictures and realize something went wrong in the investigation. At this point it's simply an effort to correct the record. The CAB and ALPA got the root cause right, but there are significant questions that were unanswered and events that they simply got wrong.

The investigators and my dad's contemporaries are all gone now. It's irksome that they didn't know of the errors, and I think many would have liked to.

It seems that things happened fast, but if you've ever been certain you were going to die in the next two or three seconds, you know how slow time can pass. Researching this requires that I spend a lot of time immersed in those seconds, and it can play in my head on demand. It's not a great feeling, but it's the price of understanding. I'll be glad to be done with the project.
