back in 2007 I tried to assist the founder of UK International Airlines, a Sheffield based startup airline which had bought 2 ex United Airlines B 767s and was planning to operate from East Midlands airport to Islamabad via Shariah 2 or 3 times a week. I very quickly become aware of the complex regulatory requirements for setting up a UK based airline, and the enormous amount of working capital required to launch a scheduled airline with only 2 aircraft. Unfortunately UKIA only lasted a few months before it stopped trading and I suspect the founder lost an enormous amount of family money in the process. I understand that so far this chap has raised about 2,000 via a gofundme website which is an absolute joke. I hope people steer well clear of him and his " airline "
