With respect to JT610 and the 737 Max, does it matter if the technology is based on a 8086, 286 or some other older processor? It's not a full blown AI system we're talking about. If MCAS is limited to function only when AoA Agree = Yes, there is no crash. Assuming pilots can fly.

If we're talking autonomous flight, FBW or something similar then by all means more processing power is better and new code preferred.
