Based on the Boeing and subsequent FAA Emergency AD, which very specifically identifies the 737-8 and -9, I think we can assume the MAX is different.
The corollary is also true, as it appears to be specific to the MAX -8 & -9 (due to STS system design changes), it is therefore not a black swan. There appear to only be around 220 MAX units in service,
this new STS modification has not a not stood the test of time, ie the Lindy Effect (
