The "animal" in humans does quite definitively
NOT understand or feel the physical reality of three-dimensional flight. Not even close.

report by the ATSB about spatial disorientation to learn about the many ways the animal mind will get it thoroughly and dangerously (and often fatally) wrong. We are not birds (and even they will get it wrong, they just don' make the news).
