Not necessarily, it depends on the airline's rules for what exactly must be checked. For example, at mine, we have to look that all squawks are closed
since the last airworthiness release. Some look back further than that, some don't. So if I see an airworthiness release from last night on a new (otherwise) blank page, I've satisfied my requirement without looking back to yesterday's squawk and corrective action.
