Just a word of caution to all prospective new joiners - due to the stagnation of the fleet (and even reduction of net airframes on the 777) Commands are about to slowdown dramatically. So positions will only open counting on attrition - which is still quite high.
If you join either fleet (with around 1200 capt each at the moment) you're looking at around 60 command courses per year on your fleet. Join at the back of a 1200 list of FOs... and do your own maths!! Currently 7-8 year FOs are waiting for upgrades on 380.
Saving on FO salary is not easy or fun particularly if you have a family. To struggle with $$$$ I rather be home.
