Whats the score with the final cheque? Is it made to cash or will it be in my name? I have had a no-liability letter from HSBC and they say that they will not close the account; is it wise to put the cheque through this account to clear and then send the money home via GCN, the risk of getting my provident fund locked into my bank account with no access to those funds is worrying me as I ha e heard of stories where the visa cancellation triggers a bank freeze. the cheque is Pay to cash in your name. I picked up my cheque from EOS counter and walked my way to NBD on the mezzanine level. Encashed it and sent it via Al Fardan money exchange, straight to my account back home.
if you settle your bills,loans and credit cards to the bank ahead of time, there should be no problem. Bank will not hold your money, you can take your deposits and close the account as you want.
