In my opinion, the problem is definately not the Pilot shortage in the Business Aviation sector.
The problem is the reluctance of owners and operators to spend money for type ratings to suitable candidates.
Everybody is looking for rated guys. But if no rated Pilot is searching for a job or willing to change because he or she is happy with his/her current position the operators speak about Pilot shortage.
I am sure there is more than enough Pilots available and willing to change for a bigger/better aircraft or better contract. So pay them nicely and pay for a Rating.
Easy as it is.
