As others have suggested I should just concentrate on doing the PPL theory which 'should' provide a reasonable base line to start your ATPLs eventually. Most of the PPL exams do actually bear some relevance to real flying, regretfully that can't be said about some of the EASA ATPLs.

Not all ATPL FTOs run their courses in the same subject order so there is no real point in going too far ahead. However if you find yourself getting bored I should start with Meteorology as this underpins everything to do with flying. You should be able to buy either a single book or DVD without committing to any particular ATPL FTO. Also brush-up on your maths in particular being able to transpose formula.
